Beautiful Scents Left On The Shelf ...

Do you, like me, have so many different types of perfumes you loved when you first bought them ... but are now collecting dust on a dressing table or shelf?  I think I own about 10 -12 different perfumes.  All of them either have a sweet fruity smell or a flowery scent.  I guess I am partial to these types of smells! LOL

I get obsessed with a certain fragrance then I tend to forget about it because I don't tend to wear perfume in general.  It's part laziness, forgetfulness and the fact that I don't tend to go out much so I don't feel the need to put any perfume on.  I know many women, like my eldest sister, like to put so much perfume on every day that they can be smelt from a mile away ... but that's just not my style.  I'd rather smell of clean skin or the shower gel I used.  Speaking of which, one of my most turn ons (smell-wise) about men is when they smell of just good old plain soap or of an aftershave.  Hmm... yummy! Apparently, us women tend to be attracted more by smell than appearance compared to men.  I agree!  For me, this certainly is true.  However, let me state that this fact does not determine my choice in men.  LOL (In fact, I am terrible with men in general.  And on this subject I will save for another time to elaborate on!)

So, back to my earlier chatter about perfume being left unused.  I feel kind of guilty about it because I know that perfumes do have a best before date.  The scent can go funky if it's been kept for too long.  In my case, like say 5 years!  And I used like maybe 5ml of a 50ml bottle!  I don't know why I keep buying more when there is so much left of my previous 'favourite-I-have-to-have-them' perfumes.  I wish they made perfumes in tester type sizes, like 10 ml ones for people like me.  That way, I can get new perfumes without feeling as guilty.  LOL  And if they were relatively cheap considering their size then it would also be kinder to my moth-eaten wallet! haha... I know they do sell small sizes but they tend to be special edition types or not the perfumes that I want.  It would be nice if it was a permanent fixture in the choices of size when you want to buy perfume.  Maybe they will begin doing that?  Who knows?  Until then, I will just have to curb my greediness or cry over my guilt!
